It is based in three fundamental aspects:
It is call human delivery to the labor treatment that pretends to take into account on an explicit and direct way, the opinions and needs, and emotional appreciation of women and their family in the pregnancy, labor and puerperium; targeting as a fundamental purpose that women experience birth as a special moment, pleasant, in dignified human conditions, where women becomes the center of attention of her birth, recognizing women's right or couples to take decisions, about where, how and with who she wishes to share this important moment of her life.
A human delivery is a dignified birth whereby women is guided by professionals during all the labor work until birth: it's not only about a loving and educated treatment to women during the labor stage. The purpose is to respect the labor work stages, the physiology of a normal labor where nothing is done that goes against the will of the pregnant women as long as the health of the newborn is not on risk; and not prohibit her to be joint for whoever she considers appropriate at that moment.
To exercise her rights as a woman and in case there is any doubts, to be clear with the information related to any complication or advantage that certain treatment might have during labor, and any inconvenience and freely decide how she wishes to live such unique experience in life, as long as she does not face any particular danger that might threaten her life, and the life of the newborn. The work of an obstetrician is to be there, vigilant to attend any inconvenient or complication that might occur during labor, birth of the newborn, to attend in time any emergency and possible complication.
In the last years the Mexican Government, the Ministry of Health, in medical congress of gynecologist and obstetrician and pediatrics has express that the high rates of cesarean section have created medical complications that increase maternal death rates.
From 1985 the professionals of health and currently the Official Mexican Regulations NOM-007-SSA2-2016, for the attention of women during pregnancy, labor and puerperium, and the newborn, consider the ideal rate for cesarean section shall be a rate among 10 to 15%. It is important to mention cesarean section are important to save women's life and newborns only when necessary for strict medical reasons.
Caesar section might cause complications and permanent disabilities or even death, especially in places that lack of adequate facilities and qualified personnel to perform surgery in the most secure way. In accordance with NOM 007, in subsection 5.5.1 mentions that on every establishment for medical attention, the official regulation shall be applied for the attention of labor and favor the emotional security of women, so as her well-being during all this process, being a priority to facilitate birth.
Specially women who experience their first delivery of birth, have to be provided with the non-medical follow-up procedure of labor and physiological labor, as long as there is no medical contradiction or obstetric. These procedures, are meant to provide quality attention and respect to the women's right to an spontaneous labor same as reducing the cesarean section index, morbidity and mortality and risk of possible complications in the long term.
